The following institutions and programmes offer financial support targeted specifically at internationally mobile scholars:
Short-term lectureships (max. 6 weeks) for scholars from our European partner universities can receive aid from the EU programme “
Erasmus Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments”.
It is recommended that German scholars abroad who are planning to return to Germany consult the DAAD announcement “
Recovery of German Researchers/Scholars Abroad” (“Rückgewinnung deutscher Wissenschaftler/innen aus dem Ausland”).
In addition to the programmes mentioned above, it is also possible to receive funding for an externally funded position and in so doing to realise a longer-term research stay at the University of Bamberg. Detailed information can be found here.

DAAD’s scholarship database provides information on aid for research worldwide, and includes programmes beyond those of the DAAD.
Aid opportunities for stays in European countries can be researched using the
Euraxess database.
Where applicable, aid for a stay abroad may be possible within the scope of the following programmes:

Short-term guest lectureships (max. 6 weeks) at one of our European partner universities can be funded by the EU programme “
Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments”.
Funding for

The Johann Gottfried Herder Initiative funds stays abroad for emeritus and retired lecturers.
