How to apply

Who can apply?

The programme addresses graduates with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in the humanities, cultural studies or social science (at least 180 ECTS) or
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in teacher training; graduates from teacher training programmes of universities and teacher training colleges for all types of schools (primary and secondary schools) will be admitted
  • At least three years of professional experience in schools excluding the traineeship/preparatory teaching period, or
  • At least three years of professional experience in development agencies in the field of education.

Other appropriate qualifications may be considered on an individual basis.

Candidates exceeding the age of 45 have to justify their motives in a letter.

 

What to apply for?

There are three different ways of participating in the Master’s programme “Educational quality in Developing Countries”, each having its own application procedure.

 

Candidates can apply

(a) For a full participation in the programme with scholarship,

(b) A full participation in the programme without scholarship (having to pay for the programme themselves or finding other financial resources) or

(c) For participation in certain modules only.

 

All candidates have to pass the academic admittance at Otto-Friedrich-Universität no matter which participation they apply for.

 

The course of the application

Candidates send in their dossier of application as pdf-file (see deadlines).

If the complete dossier of application is received in due time, there will be a phone interview lasting at least 20 minutes.

If the phone interview is passed, the dossier will be forwarded to the academic assessment center.

Candidates receive notice of their acceptance into the programme as soon as possible.
