Dr. Blerita Korca and Prof. Frank Schiemann at EAA 2025 in Rome

From May 28–30, Dr. Blerita Korca and Prof. Frank Schiemann attended the 47th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) in Rome, Italy.

Blerita presented the research project "Unveiling the Sustainability Narrative in Earnings Conference Calls", co-authored with Kartin Hummel (WU Wien). Frank presented "Opportunities and Challenges of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive Compliance", co-authored with Blerita Korca and Nina Gonzalez Tablada (HHU Düsseldorf).

The event was a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and engage in inspiring discussions on current research in accounting and sustainability.

Frank Schiemann Appointed to EFRAG Academic Panel

Prof. Dr. Frank Schiemann has been appointed to the Academic Panel of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) [Link: https://www.efrag.org/en/about-us/working-groups-and-advisory-panels/efrag-academic-panel]. In this role, he will contribute his research expertise to the development of sustainability reporting standards in Europe.

EFRAG is an independent, non-profit organization that provides technical advice to the European Commission on corporate reporting, with a key focus on financial and sustainability reporting.

Cases and Exercises on Sustainability Accounting book, co-edited by Dr. Blerita Korca

Dr. Blerita Korca has co-edited the book “Cases and Exercises on Sustainability Accounting" together with Prof. Charles Cho and Prof. Ericka Costa. The book is a collection of cases and exercises on sustainability accounting, intended to help professors and instructors currently teaching or planning to teach a course on sustainability accounting and/or reporting.

The book is published by Edward Elgar Publishing and is available here.

November 2024 unseren Lehrstuhl und hielt in CTRL-M-02: Research Seminar Management Accounting and Sustainability einen Vortrag mit dem Thema: Exploring Climate Risk Disclosure´s Impact - Evidence from the Palm Oil Industry.

Wir haben uns gefreut, Prof. Dr. Rimmel an der Universität Bamberg zu haben und freuen uns auf weitere Kooperationen in der Zukunft.

Prof. Dr. Charles Cho von der Schulich School of Business | York University, besuchte vom 12 - 13. November 2024 unseren Lehrstuhl und hielt sowohl in CTRL-B-03: Strategische Unternehmensrechnung und Nachhaltigkeit als auch in CTRL-M-03: Sustainability Accounting and Reporting einen Gastvortrag.

Wir haben uns gefreut, Prof. Dr. Cho an der Universität Bamberg zu haben und freuen uns auf weitere Kooperationen in der Zukunft.

Am 10. und 11. Oktober 2024 nahmen Prof. Dr. Schiemann und unsere wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin Lisa Wuttke an der NAMA Konferenz in Straubing teil. Lisa Wuttke stellte dort ihr Forschungsprojekt "Analysing the Link between ESG Assurance and Firm Value: The Role of ESG Performance" in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Schiemann vor.

Dr. Blerita Korca gewinnt den Emerald Literati Award für herausragendes Paper

Wir freuen uns, Ihnen mitteilen zu können, dass die Arbeit unserer Postdoktorandin Dr. Blerita Korca mit dem Titel „Disentangling the concept of comparability in sustainability reporting“ (Entwirrung des Konzepts der Vergleichbarkeit in der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung) den Emerald Literati Award 2024 für „Outstanding Paper“ gewonnen hat, der im Sustainability Accounting Management and Policy Journal veröffentlicht wurde.

Diese Studie befasst sich mit dem Konzept der Vergleichbarkeit in der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung und wurde gemeinsam mit Ericka Costa (Universität Trient) und Lies Bouten (IESEG School of Management) verfasst.

Das Papier ist frei zugänglich und kann kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.

05 - 06.09.24 / Lisa Schramm präsentiert in Dänemark

Am 5. und 6. September 2024 nahmen Prof. Dr. Schiemann und unsere wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin Lisa Schramm an der ersten European Sustainability Accounting & Reporting Conference (ESARC) in Aalborg, Dänemark teil. Lisa Schramm stellte dort ihr aktuelles Forschungsprojekt "Analysing the Link between ESG Assurance and Firm Value: The Role of ESG Performance" in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Dr. Schiemann vor.

Neben den Diskussionsrunden bot insbesondere das gemeinsame Abendessen die Gelegenheit zum internationalen Austausch über Forschungsprojekte und interessante künftige Forschungsfragen.
